Hanlon Shoe 5Km Fun Run and Shoe Testing

Hanlon Shoe will be sponsoring a "shoe testing" and 5Km "Fun Run" with Bill Rodgers, Frank Shorter and Belayneh Dinsamo as Special Guests on Friday night - February 22, 2008 from 5:30 - 7:00 P.M. The "Fun Run" 5Km begins at 7:00 p.m. in front of Hanlon's Shoe.

Following the "Fun Run" there will be a casual "cash" dinner & drinks next door at Harry's Blues Bar in downtown Hyannis, Massachusetts beginning at 8:30 P.M. with Bill Rodgers as our Special Guest. All are welcome to join in on this rare opportunity to sit with Bill on a very personal level over drinks and dinner.

Race Expo, Packet Pickup & Late Registration

An Event Expo will be held during race weekend at the Four Points by Sheraton Hyannis Resort in the Ballroom on the 1st floor (farthest right of hotel) this year.

Hours will be from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and between 7:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

You will be able to pick-up your chip, bib# and T-shirt at these times as well as register for the race of your choosing if space is available.

Bill Rodgers will all autographing "complimentary" Race Posters at the Expo on Saturday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and speaking at the Pasta Dinner from 7:00-9:00 p.m..

Event Pre-Race Pasta Dinner

There will be a pre-race pasta dinner from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the Sheraton Hyannis Resort Hotel Ballroom. The dinner will include: pasta w/ plain sauce & a meat sauce, salad & bread. The fee for this is $15.00 per person in advance and $14.00 at the door. There will be a cash bar for all refreshments.

Bill Rodgers, 4-Time Winner of the Boston Marathon will be our Special Guest. He will be available for autographs and pictures at the Expo and pasta dinner. Additional special guests to be announced.

*Folks have been turned away at the door the past two years. We can only accept so many of pasta night due to food order constraints. Please order tickets ahead of time if you really want to attend.

Post Race Food & Awards Ceremony

There will also be an awards ceremony (11:30 a.m.) and post race food that will begin at 12:00 p.m. following the races in the Four Points by Sheraton Hyannis Resort Hotel Lounge.

Runners in all of the races are welcome at the pre & post affairs as are friends & family.

Hanlon Shoe will be on-site offering a variety of store merchandise and running advice. The new owner Kevin Petrovek, an avid runner and longtime member of the Hyannis Road Runners and the Cape Cod Athletic Club will be assisting you.

Hanlon Shoes has had a long and glorious presence on Main Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts for 20+ years and it has been the place to go for running sneaks and advice for just as long also.

National Running Center will be on-site selling all your race day item needs as well as running apparel, running shoes and like kind. The National Running Center has been supporting this race for many many years.

Dave LaPrise of Tri-Sack will be on-site showcasing all his multi-sport wears and gears. Ask Dave about the time he ran a marathon in Walpole State Prison.


"Wag Your Tail" of Harwich, MA will be making their debut at the Four Points by Sheraton Hyannis Marathon, Half Marathon, 10Km & Marathon Team Relay in 2007. Owned by two sisters, Dawn and Heather, "Wag Your Tail" is a line of t-shirts that let people express what makes their tail wag.

If you want to see how great the shirts look on, Heather will be wearing 13.1 Dog while running the half.

Mary White of Hyannis, Massachusetts is a nationally certified massage therapist with professional affiliation to the American Massage Therapy Association. Mary is available on race weekend for pre & post race massages.

Mary is an experienced sports massage therapist having worked the elite athletes at the Boston Marathon the past 10 years.

Cape Cod Rehabilitation & Sports Physical Therapy will be available to discuss all your orthopedic and sports physical therapy needs on Saturday & Sunday at the Race Exposition and on race morning at 9:30 A.M. they will be conducting a group stretch/warm-up out on the parking lot close to the golf course weather permitting.
